Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Drive to Fort Portal

Meet your guide and thereafter embark on the 6 -7 hour drive to the beautiful town of Fort Portal where you'll arrive in the late afternoon hours. Settle in to the lodge for the night’s stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking + Relaxation

Arise early and head into the Kibale forest with the ranger guide to track chimpanzees. Once found, watch the chimpanzees at close proximity and observe as they go about their business in their natural habitats. You will also see numerous other ape species including the collubus monkey baboons and red-tailed monkeys. Spend the afternoon hours relaxing by the swimming pool or crater lake side by your lodge. .

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth Park for Evening Game Drive

Set off at 06:30am for Queen Elizabeth National Park via the equator crossing for photos. Drive through the scenic rural countryside with the Rwenzori mountains offering a scenic backdrop. Break for lunch before you embark on an afternoon game drive in the savannah grasslands of the park. On the game drive look out for the big cats like lions and leopards and other big game like elephants and buffalo.  Finish off the game drive with glorious views of the sun setting over the moutain ranges before you return to the lodge for the night’ stay.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel and Lake Edward

Arise in time for early breakfast, thereafter proceed for early morning big game viewing as you drive along the circuits. Look out for elephants, lions, buffaloes, kobs, warthogs, waterbucks and other small mammals as you drive through the savannah grasslands o the park. You will also see the numerous crater lakes of the area as well as numerous bird species that inhabit this scenic park.
Break for lunch at the Mweya Peninsula also known as “the beautiful place”.

In the afternoon, head for a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel. Enjoy the beautiful sights along the lake shores teeming with "loser “buffalo herds, hippos and crocodiles as well as numerous birds including pink backed pelicans, plovers, Kingfishers and many other birds species that reside in this avian paradise.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Drive via Ishasha sector to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After a leisurely breakfast embark on the journey through Queen Elizabeth as you make your way to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This is arguably one of Uganda’s most scenic route as the journey takes you through savannah grasslands and tropical rainforests.


Stop for lunch and a game drive in the Ishasha sector where with a little luck, you will get to see the elusive tree climbing lions of Ishasha. Thereafter embark on the final leg of the journey to Bwindi where you will arrive in the late evening hours.

Day 6: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Arise early for breakfast, head to the park office for briefing. Thereafter, the rangers will walk you down the narrow forest paths through thick undergrowth, with the bird sounds in the background as you search for the gorilla families.


Tracking can take between 2-6 hours. However, once found the experience of watching these incredible primates in their natural habitat is well worth every ounce of energy expended on the tiring forest trails. It is most advisable for trackers to be in good physical condition before embarking on the trails. Get in close proximity with the gorillas as you quietly observe these pacific primates in their natural habitat. Watch the gorillas eat, groom and play.


After the days' tracking return to the lodge for dinner and the night’s stay.

Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Arise at your leisure and enjoy breakfast in Bwindi as you watch the morning sun rising along with mist emanating from the forest. Thereafter embark on a 2 hour journey to Lake Bunyonyi.

You will get a chance to swim or canoe in the lake or simply unwind in what is arguably Uganda’s most beautiful lake island.

Day 8: Full day relaxation at Lake Bunyonyi

This is another day spent in Lake Bunyonyi where a host of activities await you. You can choose to hike  as you enjoy scenic views in one of Uganda’s most beautiful places. If the weather permits enjoy a canoe boat ride on the lake. You could as well opt to spend the day swimming or relaxing at the lake shore reading a book.

Day 9: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast,  your guide will transfer you to Mgahinga National Park. Arrive in time for your lunch and spend the rest of the day preparing for the next days’ trek.

Day 10: Golden Monkey trekking

Awaken early to go to Mgahinga’s old forests in search for the endangered golden monkeys. This trekking can be anywhere between 2 – 4 hours. Thereafter you will proceed to Rwanda, the land of a thousand hills.

Day 11: Kigali tour

After a hearty breakfast, tour Kigali town as you visit the genocide monument. Here you will Listen to stories of how the genocide events form the past in Rwanda. Most interestingly, you will hear stories of resilience, forgiveness and hope that have forged a new chapter for Rwanda. You will also see the city from different views as you visit the hilltops.

Day 12: Departure via Kigali airport

Enjoy breakfast before you head to the craft shops around Kigali for shopping. This will depend on your flight time. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
