Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Set off for a 10 -12 hour drive from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This will depend on which location we would have secured the Gorilla permits. Arrive and settle in at your lodge as you prepare for your next days’ trek.

Accommodation:Bakiga Lodge/Buhoma Community Lodge (Midrange) or Broadbill Forest Camp (Budget) .

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Arise early for breakfast, head to the park office at 08:00am for briefing. Thereafter, the rangers will walk you down the narrow forest paths through thick undergrowth, with the bird sounds in the background as you search for the gorilla families.

Tracking can take between 2-8 hours. However, once found the experience of watching these incredible primates in their natural habitat is well worth every ounce of energy expended on the tiring forest trails. It is most advisable for trackers to be in good physical condition before embarking on the trails. Get in close proximity with the gorillas as you quietly observe these pacific primates in their natural habitat. Watch the Gorillas eat, groom and play. After a long day’s trek, embark on a journey to the rejuvenating Islands of Bunyonyi. Enjoy dinner at the lakeside as you unwind by the lake shores at the lodge.

Day 3: Return to Kampala

After your breakfast, drive back to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator for photos and lunch. Thereafter proceed to Kampala where you will arrive in the evening hours.
